NFL rule changes

The National Football League (NFL) rule changes over the past decade have made football teams more reliant on one position instead of an entire team. To increase viewership and become more profitable the NFL placed rules to make the game more “exciting” by placing more restrictions on what defenders can do. The NFL has now had a major increase in total offense and scoring in the NFL. Since offenses are reliant on a quarterback to distribute the ball to all the players while defenses are not reliant on a single position, a quarterback is all a team needs to win. NFL teams are now too reliant on a single player and have turned what once was a team game more into an individual sport, all to make the game more “exciting”.

  2. I found this interesting because it shows the politics behind the recent controversy in the NFL. Furthermore, The author clearly stated his opinion, but was not biased in writing the facts, making this article an informational piece, as well as persuasive.
